The Ready-Mixed pieces are audio works made in various public places (shops, games arcades, etc.) in Osaka, Japan. All of these are spaces saturated with heterogeneous, simultaneous sounds. Each Ready-Mixed is completely live and uncut: there is no editing, mixing. There are no added effects. The pieces are purely the result of selective sound recording made while moving around the space. Whereas the human ear registers only a formless hubbub, the microphone enables us to decipher the soundscape: its improvisations can foreground a particular sound source, or link or mix it with another one. Chaque Ready-Mixed est entièrement réalisé en direct : il n’y a aucun montage, mixage ou effet rajouté. Il s’agit uniquement de prise de son sélective et en mouvement dans l’espace. Quand, dans le contexte d’origine, l’oreille ne perçoit qu’un brouhaha informe, le micro permet une lecture du paysage sonore : il peut mettre en avant une source, l’enchaîner ou la mixer avec une autre, tout ceci dans l’improvisation.
